Daily Station Gaming Log #6

Only played two PS system games today (08-15-10), and it was another PS3 day.

Fallout 3 (PS3)-

I'm still not super impressed by this game yet. Again, I'm only at the beginning, but it's pretty slow going for the time being. I'll get full life, meet up with one or two small enemies, and then have to run back to town to heal up again. It's just grinding right now, and the world doesn't feel as open as Oblivion did. I'll keep on it, and maybe it'll eventually pick up, but for the time being, I feel like I'm putting in hours of play and getting nowhere in the game.

Call of Duty 3 (PS3)-

Don't know why I decided to play this one. Possibly because I haven't played all the way through it yet. This was a launch game, and a flawed one at that. Aside from the extremely scripted CoD gameplay in the single player that I have grown to dislike over the many years (including the SP in CoD4 MW), it has framerate problems. They didn't optimize this game to run on the PS3 right. It was a sloppy port. The online play is decent though, but another strike for the typical PS3 gamer (not me though) is there are no trophies in this game. Like most early PS3 games it predates them, and they weren't patched into it.

As for what I mainly played this weekend. When I had time, I played Red Faction Guerrilla, Demon's Souls, and Fallout 3 on the PS3. I didn't get a lot of free time to play them though.
