I played two PS3 games today (09-07-10).
I played some more Assassin's Creed today. I mainly just took some gameplay footage though just to do it. It's not as though it's a brand new game that people are dying to see gameplay footage of. I'm still enjoying the game at the moment. We'll see if I eventually get bored and move on, or if I stick with it till the end.
Here is the footage I uploaded earlier today:
This is an extremely overlooked PS3 game, and is the best PC to console port in gaming history hands down. This is the first game to have official mod support, and the PS3 version also allows for Keyboard and Mouse use. The PC version is still probably a little better, but this is the closest any console port has come to being as good as the PC original.
I played this game online for a little bit today, and man is it ever fun. It's got the old school feel to it's online play, but that's perfectly fine with me. In fact, I prefer this game's style of play to either Halo 3, or Modern Warfare which cater to cheap play to win instead of overall skill. Not the there aren't some cheap ways to play in this game, but it's definitely harder to play cheaply in games like this. You may get away with camping for a little bit, but overall, to stop moving in the game equals a guaranteed death. People criticize games like this saying they take no strategy, but what they call strategy, I call hiding, and being afraid to play.
Plus that criticism doesn't hold water, because these games take quite a bit more strategy, and skill to get good at. You just don't get to hide in a corner and think about it like you do in more "strategic" games. It's on-the-fly strategy where if you take more than a split second to think about it, you're dead. By comparison, Halo and CoD are slow, boring, and unexciting. People who don't like these games usually don't like them because they suck at them. I, however, really suck at games like these, and yet i always have a blast playing them. They are more pure unadulterated fun than other online shooters.
Here's a vid of UTIII in action I uploaded to Youtube earlier today (I'm in a controller only match in the vid):
NOTE: The Xbox 360 version of UTIII doesn't support mods, nor does it support using a keyboard and mouse to play it. It's controller only.
Assassin's Creed (PS3)-
